Who is Afraid of Ideology? Part 3: Micro Resistencias

Director: Marwa Arsanios
Germany, Colombia, 31 minutes, 2020, documentary, experimental

In Part 3: Micro Resistencias, Marwa Arsanios focuses on the region of Tolima, also known as one of the coffee-producing regions in Colombia. The film brings to our attention several stories of women who, in turn, talk about their struggle to preserve the ancestral knowledge of the indigenous communities concerning the cultivation and protection of the seeds that enable them to achieve a form of agricultural autonomy.

The problematic issues of land ownership, the sharing of natural resources, forced displacements, and murder also evoke the exploitation and violence to which the inhabitants of this region have been subjected. The voices of these testimonies are intertwined with the landscapes, portraits, sounds, and the seed cultivation that is the core of the film.
